I’m currently getting my masters in Healthcare Administration. I have a statistics class coming up and just realized…i’m actually going to have to USE this in my career! I never would have thought. In college I took stats, and got a good grade, but mostly figured I’d never have to REALLY understand it because I’d never use it. Boy was I wrong. It honestly just hit me that I’ll need to understand stats in my professional career and what a heartbreaker!
Right now I’m in a Finance Management class and, again, never thought I’d need to know any specifics. I have a calculator, I have a good broker who takes care of all my money, I know the basics of what to do and not do in the world of finance. I have a good budget that I stick to and know how to go through my personal finances. I thought that would be enough. But no. Again, back to needing to know specifics of how corporate finances work! I guess it’s really a good thing. The more you know about finances in your profession, the more it can help you in your personal life! I definitely need to keep that in mind.
