Gym Membership Budgeting

I have a small dilema going on in regards to a personal budgeting decision.  I thought, like so many other times, that I would weigh out my options in a post!  Lucky you.

I have always know that staying in shape and being healthy is important.  I have been lifting weights since 9th grade and I love it.  Don’t worry, I’m not the nasty “strong woman” type.  I like to stay toned.  In college I studied Health Science, so I also know the benefit of having healthy muscles and staying active.

I have fit a gym membership into my budget.  It’s only 25 dollars a month, which I think is well worth it.  As a side note-if you stay healthy by eating right and being physically fit, you’ll spend far less time in the doctor’s office with health issues.  In the end, that fact alone will save you all kinds of money.

My current dilema has to do with the weather.  While I do love going to the gym, I have a hard time using my membership in the spring and summer.  It’s just so nice out that I don’t want to be inside working out.  I’d rather be outside doing some kind of fun physical activity.

Because of that, I can’t decide if my decline in membership use in the spring and summer months is worth keeping the membership for those months.  That was a lot of repetative words…

Mostly, I have to decide if I want to cancel for the summer and save a little money or just keep it.  I would obviously sign back up in the fall, which could end up being more expensive depending on if they have rate increases.

It’s a tough decision…No idea what I’ll do, but thought I’d put it out there-yanno, get all my thoughts written down and maybe get you thinking about things like this!
